Cleaning price – what will the cleaning price be? Order
"What will be the final price of the cleaning?" or "Can you please tell me how much the cleaning will cost?" We hear these questions from clients who want their home to shine with cleanliness, but at the same time are confused, or actually don't know how a cleaning company can respond to such questions. It's like walking into a supermarket and asking at the checkout: "How much will I pay for my shopping?" Without knowing the contents of your cart, no one can tell you the exact amount. And no one knows what you intend to put in your cart. And the same applies to cleaning.
Most cleaning companies have their price lists based on an hourly rate for one or more workers, to which the cost of special cleaning products and transportation is added. Therefore, everyone can make a rough estimate: two hours of work for a team of two people with regular cleaning products will cost a certain amount, ten hours of work with a team of four people and the use of specialized products will cost more. Of course, this is just an approximate calculation, but for an initial idea, it's the best way cleaning companies can offer.
However, if someone writes simply "How much will it cost?", it's almost impossible for a reputable company to respond adequately. Without any details about the scope of the work, any price quote is just a shot in the dark. And what about when the client writes in the email just "I want cleaning, what's the price?" That's a real challenge for us.
Anyone who responds to such a vague inquiry with a specific amount either lacks experience or is taking a risky guess. Cleaning may only take a few hours, but it can also extend to several days. Without exact information about what, where, and under what conditions the cleaning will be done, it's impossible to establish even an approximate price.
We often encounter clients who claim that it's a "small cleaning" that will be done quickly and therefore cheap. Of course, everyone wants to save. But then a situation arises where the cleaning takes all day and the client wonders why it took so long and cost so much. But they forget that they didn't mention cleaning after construction work, window washing after painting, carpet cleaning due to pets, or a thorough cleaning of a heavily soiled oven. Few people realize that such cleaning requires not only more time but also more workers. Cleaners are not machines, and they have to deal with dirt diligently because no robot will do it for them.
Regular cleaning includes cleaning a standardly dirty apartment or house under normal conditions. Flat floors, regular windows, standard equipment, no extreme dirt. But then we encounter an apartment full of dust after renovation, windows with glue residue, carpets full of pet hair, and an oven with burnt food scraps. And at that moment, the client starts to get upset about the low price we initially gave them. But that's only because we didn't have enough information about the actual state of the cleaned space. Where is the mistake?
To get the most advantageous price offer, clients often state that only the living room, kitchen, and bathroom will be cleaned. But then it turns out that the entire house, including the garage and cellar, which the client "forgot" about, needs to be cleaned. And the price triples in an instant. Where did the mistake happen?
To prevent these misunderstandings, it's crucial for both parties to communicate openly and share truthful information. What will be cleaned, what special tasks are needed, whether it's necessary to use a steam cleaner, whether the client will provide their own cleaning supplies. It's also important to know about access to the property, parking options, the floor, the presence of an elevator, furniture placement after cleaning, and any assembly or appliance installation. These details are essential to get an accurate price quote from a professional cleaning company.
Cleaners are not only hardworking and capable people, but also intelligent professionals with a sense for organization and detail. Based on their knowledge and experience, they will gladly tell you the price of cleaning, but only if you provide them with complete information. If the client is confused or hides important details from them, the cleaning company cannot be held responsible. Even if we do a personal inspection, but the client only provides part of the information, we cannot guarantee an exact price. And this applies even when the client gives us a list of cleaning tasks but adds more items on the day of cleaning. The client wants a fixed price, but then "just" adds a few small things. Small things they forgot about or considered unimportant but which take precious time.
For both parties to be satisfied with the price and the work done, it's necessary for the cleaning technician to listen carefully to the client and try to meet their needs. The client, on the other hand, should provide truthful information and appreciate the work and helpfulness of the hired cleaning company.
